In the ninth episode of Sleepwell Foundation Presents Zindagi with Richa—Season 5, it's the story of Bibi Parkash Kaur, the mother—“mamma” of 80 girls of "Unique Home" in Jalandhar and of some thousand others residing outside the house. Bibi rescues these unwanted babies and provides them with shelter and a family. She gives them a Mother. For those who live here—toddlers learning to take their first steps, bright-eyed schoolgirls with well-oiled plaits, and young women at the threshold of adulthood, the Unique Home is much more than just a home for abandoned girls. Bibi Parkash Kaur has dedicated her life to serving the children in her care as a mother. Despite many challenges and magnitude of the task; providing for food, shelter, education, and even organizing for marriage as the girls grow up—Bibi keeps her unwavering faith. “God always finds a way to provide for us,” she says. She questions the morality of the society that decides the birth and death of girls. She is a saint. She is a mother. She is the personification of Emotional Wellness.
